      President’s Welcome

Welcome to the 2026 AABC Annual Meeting! The AABC Board of Directors is happy to be gathering with you all once again to learn and collaborate at the beautiful Henderson Beach Resort here in Destin, Florida.

We have an excellent slate of education and activities lined up for the next few days. Dallin Cooper will kick things off with a keynote about challenging assumptions and building stronger working relationships. In technical sessions, we’ll hear from some great minds in our industry about important topics such as handling project delays, compliance and performance, and AABC’s new Laboratory Fume Hood Certification. And of course, we’ll make some time for fun and community at the Beach Party and Closing Celebration.

The past few years have been an exciting time for AABC. We celebrated 60 years of this organization in 2025, honoring our past and looking together toward the future. This year, we were happy to announce the release of a newly revised edition of the AABC National Standards for Total System Balance. The 8th edition, published in September, is the second to be accredited by ANSI and includes updated requirements and procedures for instrumentation, system balancing, HVAC commissioning, and more.

We’re also testing out a new meeting pattern this year, starting the Annual Meeting on Tuesday and finishing on Thursday. If you have feedback on this new format, please let AABC staff or a Board member know — we are always happy to hear from you!It has been a great honor to serve as your AABC President for the past two years, and I look forward to remaining on the Board in the role of Immediate Past President. As always, the Board is here for you, the members. We appreciate all the work you do to uphold AABC’s mission, and we encourage you to reach out with any questions, concerns, or ideas.

Let’s have a great Annual Meeting, AABC!

      Sincerely,

      Douglas R. Meacham, TBE

      AABC President
